of Singapore Office

September 2012-- To support its burgeoning success
in Asia Pacific, Orion Health, New Zealand’s largest
privately owned software exporter and a global leader in
eHealth technology, today announced the official opening of
its new Singapore office. This new facility provides a new
home for the company’s Singapore-based services,
development and technical support teams.
Mark Capill, Regional Manager Asia Pacific, Orion Health, says, “The opening of our new Singapore office will enable us to offer improved service and responsiveness to our growing base of customers across South East Asia.”
Orion Health’s expansion into Singapore follows its acquisition of Microsoft’s HIS solution earlier this year, as well as becoming an integral part of the consortium awarded the contract to implement the National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) by the Singapore Ministry of Health in June 2010.
Orion Health HIS is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art
hospital information system that supports paperless,
integrated workflows to help improve information integrity,
reduce transcription errors and duplication of information
entry, and optimize report turnaround times.
The
addition of Orion Health HIS to its portfolio has provided
the company with access to the international private
hospital market, including Bumrungrad International Hospital
in Bangkok, Thailand. Bumrungrad has realised significant
reductions in patient waiting times, laboratory and
radiology processing times, as well as a reduction in the
time it takes to retrieve a patient’s medical record
following its implementation of Orion Health HIS.
Mark Capill says the single biggest technology challenge facing healthcare providers in Asia and around the globe is how to share clinical information between electronic silos. Orion Health Electronic Health Record (EHR) breaks down these silos and offers secure access to a single reliable and accurate patient record. This provides an ideal platform to address key issues that increase a region’s healthcare costs such as chronic disease and aging populations.
