Consumer NZ invites Kiwis to join in Twitter chat

Consumer NZ is inviting New Zealand consumers to participate in an online chat on Twitter this week.

On Wednesday, 10 October from 1.00pm to 1.20pm, Consumer NZ will host the first in a series of chat sessions that will give Kiwis the opportunity to discuss in a public forum some key consumer issues.

Consumer NZ editor in chief David Naulls says that the theme of the first Twitter chat will focus on the recent reports on sunbed operators published by Consumer NZ.

"The two reports on sunbed operators in New Zealand revealed some serious concerns about how the industry is failing to meet its consumer-protection responsibilities," says David Naulls.

"We are keen to share more information about these issues with interested Kiwis on Twitter and look forward to continuing the discussion to help raise awareness about this and other issues affecting New Zealand consumers."
Tweeters who would like to participate can follow Consumer NZ via the handle @consumernz (http://twitter.com/consumernz). The chat on the day will be tracked using the hash tag #ConsumerChat.
