Wellington to host TEDx in December

8th November 2012

Principal Sponsor Announced!

The coolest little capital in the world will be hosting TEDx in December.

Leading IT company, Optimation has signed up to be the Principal Event Sponsor. Helen Mills, Marketing and Communications Manager for Optimation says:

“Optimation are delighted to support such a ground-breaking event as we are passionate about innovation and harnessing technology to improve the productivity of businesses by exploring what’s possible”.

TEDx events are independently organised events licensed by TED. TEDxTeAro is a real opportunity to get Wellington on the global innovation map. License holder and organiser DK has this to say:

“As we’ll be streaming the event out online via tedxtearo.com plus several Facebook pages this is a great chance for the eyes of the world to focus on the nations capital.”

“For all of us volunteering our time and passion it’s an opportunity to explore the rich stories Wellington has to offer and to highlight those in a format and brand that is recognisable.”

TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) is a nonprofit devoted to “ideas worth spreading”, holding events where the world’s leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Their talks are then made freely available online.

100 tickets will be made available for TEDxTeAro on the 15th November at $80 a ticket, but the event will also be streamed live to the web and the Facebook page.

TEDxTeAro will be held at TePapa on the 1st December.

To stay up with the play as information is released, sign up to the newsletter, join the facebook page, or follow @tedxtearo on twitter.
