Bill English to Open Animfxnz

Media Release
Friday 9 November

Bill English to Open New Zealand’s Premiere Digital Entertainment Event – Animfxnz.

Deputy Prime Minister Bill English will open AnimfxNZ, New Zealand’s premiere animation, games and visual effects conference next week in Wellington. The conference brings together leading entrepreneurs, creatives and technicians in digital entertainment from New Zealand and all over the world for a highly interactive three days of workshops, talks and networking.

Now in its seventh year, the conference will take place on the 15-17 November in Wellington. AnimfxNZ attracts some of the world’s most innovative and successful digital companies and has a genuine record of facilitating opportunities for both established and emerging companies in Wellington’s world-class screen and digital sector.

AnimfxNZ is organised by the NZ GAV Trust, a group of digital media professionals from companies dedicated to advancing the animation, gaming and visual fx industry in New Zealand. It works with a number of strategic partners including Grow Wellington, the Wellington regional economic development agency.

“Having the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance open the conference is a great endorsement of how the local industry is going from strength to strength. Wellington in particular has a remarkable depth of talent and cutting edge technology in the digital entertainment field – an important part of New Zealand’s innovation economy.” says Sven Pannell, General Manager for Digital and Creative at Grow Wellington.
