Diamond Jubilee’ Birthday For Crystal Wine Bottles

New Zealand’s First Crystal Wine Bottles Made with Swarovski Elements, Mark ‘Diamond Jubilee’ Birthday

A limited number of custom-made wine bottles, made with genuine Swarovski Elements, will be launched in New Zealand later this week by iconic Marlborough-based vineyard, No.1 Family Estate.

No.1 Family Estate’s, Cuvée Adele, was lovingly created over a three year period, by award-winning winemaker and company owner, Daniel Le Brun, to honour the significant birthday of his wife and business partner, Adele Le Brun.

Mr Le Brun says only 200 cases of the hand crafted vintage cuvée have been made.

“We wanted a bespoke bottle which matched the quality of the wine, and reflected the significance of the event, and although crystal studded bottles have appeared before in France, this is an entirely new and exciting concept for the New Zealand market,” says Mr Le Brun.

Mrs Le Brun says she is looking forward to releasing the namesake wine made in celebration of the event, which she jokingly refers to as her “diamond jubilee birthday”.

“I am honoured to have this special vintage named after me, and we are excited about showcasing Cuvée Adele at the launch, where I will also perform a sabrage to mark the occasion, which is a traditional French technique for opening a wine bottle with a sabre, or champagne sword.” says Mrs Le Brun.

Vivienne Gee, Account Manager for Swarovski Elements business in New Zealand, says the crystals used are of the finest quality.

“SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS is the premium brand for the finest precision cut crystal elements manufactured by Swarovski in Austria. We were very excited to have the opportunity to work with Mr Le Brun on this project which is a first for New Zealand wine and the end result is absolutely exquisite,” says Mrs Gee.
