SYL Semantics Appoints Shayne Hunter To Its Board
Wellington-based software company Syl
Semantics today announced that it had appointed Shayne
Hunter, an experienced IT and business consultant to its
board of directors.
Shayne Hunter is a director and a principal of Genesis Consulting Group, a Wellington-based independent IT services company that advises and manages key projects specialising in the health, education and central government sectors.
Syl Semantics’ chairman John Selby said, “Shayne has over 30 years experience as a manager, management consultant and company director in commercial and government organisations, during which time he has established, grown and sold several businesses. In particular, he understands how to market the value and role of Syl’s innovative technology in solving business problems.
Shayne began his career with IBM in 1980 and became NZ Professional Services Manager with that company before leaving in 1993 to establish the first of his own businesses.
Shayne has a NZ Certificate of Engineering and a NZ Certificate in Direct Marketing. He is a member of the Institute of IT Professionals (formerly the NZ Computer Society) and the Institute of Directors in New Zealand (Inc), and is a Information Technology Certified Professional.
He joins existing directors existing directors Lindsay Jackson, Craig Jones, Marcel van den Assum, Sean Wilson and John Selby (independent chairman) on the Syl Semantics board.
