Australian Market Report
Monday 18 February – Local share markets closed out the day on a high note, off to a strong start for the week. Unfettered by less encouraging results out of the US, the Australian market was heartened by the vigour of the financials and consumer staples sectors. Telcos and materials were the only sectors to buck the upward trend.

The All Ordinaries gained 28.30 points (0.56%) to 5,082.90 while the S&P/ASX 200 rose 29.50 points (0.59%) to 5,063.40. .. Read More

Minding Of Meats: MPI Working To Clear Shipments To China

New export certificates are being issued to release containers of meat products held up at the Chinese border, the Ministry for Primary Industries said today. Shipments of meat into China were delayed after MPI issued export certification in a format which had not been approved by Chinese authorities at AQSIQ. More>>
