Global And Local Accolades For APM Print

APN Print New Zealand media release (March 6, 2013)

Global And Local Accolades For APM Print

APN Print New Zealand’s company-wide focus on quality and commitment to staff advancement have again been recognised both internationally and domestically by prestigious awards events.

The Web Offset Association of America (WOA) Print Awards Competition has bestowed a first place in the produced using coldset printing, four-colour on uncoated stock (other than newsprint) category for the SWUG Conference Newspaper and a third place in the special edition commemorative or self-promotion by coldset category for Element Magazine, both printed in June last year.

Understood to annually attract over 400 entries from all over the world, the WOA Awards are judged under the following criteria:

• registration
• degree of difficulty
• folding, binding or other finishing (if applicable)
• overall craftsmanship of product

Additionally, APN Print New Zealand has found itself in the unique position of two employees being named finalists for the PrintNZ Apprentice of the Year Award -- Michael Brown and Shane Baskerville. Coupled with these two nominees, the firm is once again a finalist in the company training award, which it won last year.

In the current challenging economic environment, APN Print New Zealand general manager Dan Blackbourn says it is rewarding to have his company’s commitment to both quality production and a team ethos acknowledged.

“Both Shane and Michael would be very worthy recipients of Apprentice of the Year Award and we will eagerly await the result announced at the Pride In Print Conference being held in Wellington in May,” he says.

“Given the scope of potential entries to the WOA competition, receiving those awards illustrates APN Print New Zealand is a printer of genuine quality on a global stage.”
