Corporate and Financial Committee meeting today

8 March 2013

Corporate and Financial Committee meeting today

Christchurch City Council's Corporate and Financial Committee met today (Friday 8 March) and considered a report regarding the sale of the existing preschool building to the Bishopdale Community Preschool Association.

Council staff recommended that the Council sell the building for a nominal sum and grant a long-term ground lease to the Bishopdale Community Preschool Association. This proposal is supported by the local community.

The Committee held over the report for further information about insurance before a recommendation can be made to Council.

Committee Chair Helen Broughton said, "It is really important that we maximise our insurance payments for our community facilities. The insurance offer was extremely small."

The Committee also recommended that the following reports be received by Council:

• Christchurch Economic Development Strategy - Revision 2013
• Performance Report for the Six Months to 31 December 2012
• Earthquake Financial Report for December 2012 and January 2013
• Riccarton Bush Trust - appointment of trustees
• 2012/13 Half Year Financial Statements for Civic Building Limited, VBase Limited, Tuam Limited, World Buskers' Festival Trust, Christchurch Agency for Energy Trust, Rod Donald Banks Peninsula Trust and Riccarton Bush Trust.
