Auckland Man Declared One Of The World’s Top Intellectual Property Strategists

An Auckland intellectual property (IP) expert has been declared one of the world’s top IP strategists by the internationally renowned Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine.

Paul Adams, CEO of Takapuna based EverEdge IP, is one of only 300 people world-wide to be selected to appear in the magazine’s IAM Strategy 300 list of the world’s leading strategist for 2013, which will be launched at IAM’s annual IP Business Congress Global in Boston on 9 June.

EverEdge IP is an idea and technology commercialisation firm that provides specialist resources and advice for maximising returns on investment in new product development and intellectual property.

Daniel Cole, Senior publisher (Asia) for Intellectual Asset Management magazine, says the Top 300 list identifies those consultants, intermediaries, financiers, lawyers and attorneys who offer world-class services related to the development and implementation of strategies that enable IP owners to maximise the value of their rights portfolios.

He says everyone named in the IAM Strategy 300 has undergone a detailed selection process that takes into account the views of leading figures in the world of corporate IP, as well as the wider IP community.

“The list identifies those individuals who offer world-class services related to the development and implementation of strategies that enable IP owners to maximise the value of their rights portfolios.

“To our knowledge, the IAM Strategy 300 continues to be the only research-based publication that specifically identifies consultants, aggregators, intermediaries and financiers, as well as lawyers and attorneys, whose primary skill set is focused on helping IP owners to increase the value of their rights,” he says.

Paul Adams says he is delighted to have made the list, which is highly regarded in the intellectual property world.

“It’s another case of Kiwis punching above their weight on the world stage and shows that New Zealand is getting better at leveraging commercial returns from IP. Having New Zealand representation on the IAM Strategy 300 list shows that we are taking huge steps forward from our ‘number eight wire’ heritage.”
