$1.5 Billion Pet Industry New Challenge for Bradley

$1.5 Billion Pet Industry New Challenge for Bradley

GrabOne Founder and entrepreneur Shane Bradley has launched New Zealand’s newest online pet store, Pet.co.nz.

Launching today, Pet.co.nz will also be the largest online pet care site with over 5200 unique pet products from over 280 local and international brands.

A pet loving nation, New Zealand boasts the highest number of cat owners in the world and over a third of households are home to a canine companion. Annually Kiwis spend over $1.5 billion* on their 5 million pets and Bradley believes the market is ready for growth.

“Overseas, internet sales in the pet industry are already at seven to eight per cent of total pet sales,” says Bradley. “New Zealand’s internet pet care sales are currently only around one per cent so there is huge room for growth. Pet.co.nz offers the broadest range of products available in New Zealand, an advanced level of personalisation on the site and superior customer service – it’s going to be a game changer for the way Kiwis shop and care for their pets.”

Bradley is determined Pet.co.nz will stand apart from competitors. Pet.co.nz offers free freight and overnight delivery, a 7am-7pm customer service desk, a resource library of over 80 pet care articles, and all 5200 SKUs stocked in the Pet.co.nz warehouse ready to be shipped.

Bradley’s new venture grew out of a need for a more convenient way for him to buy supplies for his own pets. It was a natural progression for Bradley to take a difficult shopping experience and turn it into a new business opportunity.

“I didn’t like spending hours stuck in traffic driving to a store to buy the products my pet needed – I wanted them delivered, ideally for free,” says Bradley. “Kiwis are more likely to be nipping out for pet food than we are a bottle of milk. Pet.co.nz will provide that one stop shop for every Kiwi pet owner by eliminating any of the hassles that can come with pet ownership.”
