Network Summary For Week Ending 19 April 2013

ELECTRICITY
The first storm of the season brought power lines down in Otahuhu, Dairy Flat and Silverdale.

There were multiple outages reported across the city due to the adverse weather conditions, including two incidents where vehicles hit power poles – one was a truck that brought down lines on the Whitford-Maretai Road, the other was a car hitting a pole in Whitford.

Additional crews put in place by Vector for the wet weather, which meant power was restored quickly after all incidents.

Crews were called to isolate the power at seven properties in Mangere, Kumeu, Grey Lynn, Albany, Silverdale, Takanini and New Lynn due to fires.

GAS TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION
The Fire Service reported a smell of gas in Takapuna and repairs to a gas pipe were made quickly by our crews. A third party contractor also struck a gas pipe in Hamilton over the weekend.

SHORTS

• Vector owns over 17,737 kilometres of overhead and underground lines in the greater Auckland area, and 12,752 of gas pipe lines, almost half of which supply gas to Auckland.
• Vector Arena hosts Black Sabbath Monday 22 April
