Media Awards tickets go on sale

With less than three weeks to go to the biggest night in journalism, it’s time to organise your tickets for New Zealand’s premiere media awards.

The Canon Media Awards celebrate the stories and photos that entertain, inform and inspire millions of Kiwis every day in newspapers, magazines and online.

And with tickets now on sale, in 2013 there are a record number of entries vying for top honours.

The Canon Media Awards are the nation’s premium industry awards, acknowledging the outstanding achievements of the photographers, journalists, feature writers, artists, designers and subeditors; both in print and online.

The black tie event, MC’d by Susan Wood, features highly acclaimed party act the J Geeks, a Maori dance and comedy team led by former C4 TV presenter Jermaine Leef, as seen on NZ’s Got Talent.

Tickets to the awards are available from Sarah Taylor at sarah@newspapers.co.nz or call 0-9-3041402

Canon has been involved with the annual Newspaper Publishers’’ Association (NPA) awards since 2006 as the sponsor of the photographic section, and now as the naming rights sponsor for the third year. The awards dinner will be celebrated at The Pullman Hotel in Auckland on Friday May 10.
