Z Energy turns two

Z Energy turns two

Z Energy today celebrates its second birthday as standalone New Zealand company operating under its own brand, and to celebrate, Z is giving motorists eight cents off per litre at all Z service stations on Friday 10 May only.

Two years ago today, the Z brand was launched to mixed feedback. Some brand experts deemed the move from a well-known international brand to a new, New Zealand focused brand as unwise.

“I recall one brand expert calling it ‘commercial suicide’,” said Z Energy Marketing Manager, Jane Anthony.

“But we always knew, and always said, that the proof was going to be in the pudding,” said Jane.

Over 300 rebranded sites including service stations, truck stops, aviation pumps and 75 completely refitted sites later, Z is now one of the most recognised brands in New Zealand.

“Before we did anything, we asked New Zealanders what they wanted from a New Zealand fuel company, then based our offer on what the research told us. We continue to check in on how we’re doing, and our latest research tells us that we are now the most preferred fuel brand, and one of the most trusted brands in New Zealand.”

Jane said that she wanted to thank Z’s supporters for backing a new company, and for always holding the company accountable to its values.

“All this would not have been possible without the support of our customers. So to say thank you, we’re giving eight cents off every litre of fuel sold to our customers.

“We’re really grateful for the support and feedback of our customers, and we look forward to continually improving your experience with us,” said Jane.

Terms and conditions of the eight cent per litre discount can be found in-store or on www.z.co.nz/Birthday.
