International Time Management Expert and Local Business Guru

International Time Management Expert Partners with Local Business Guru

14th May 2013

Business is more challenging today in New Zealand than it ever has been. The global financial crisis has had an enormous impact. Those who have survived are looking forward to the future, and it looks busy!

With less money in the bank, many businesses have had to cut back on staff, which subsequently increases the workload for the remaining team. Delegation and effective time management become paramount. Good delegation is a major challenge for most people. On average 28% of productivity is lost per day mainly through interruptions and emails. If we can delegate effectively then we can dramatically reduce the amount of interruptions and increase productivity.

Robyn Pearce is an internationally renowned Time Management expert with a following of over 12,000 people from all over the world. In the past six months she has noticed a marked increase in requests for a public workshop from people feeling overloaded. In response to this, Robyn Pearce is hosting a Wellington-based breakfast workshop on Friday 7th June 2013 focusing on Delegation and Effective Time-Management. “Delegation is not one action, it’s a process”, Robyn explains. “It starts with directing, then coaching, then support, and only when our people are fully educated can we expect them to take full responsibility”.

Lance Jensen from Red Hot Business Coaching will be a guest speaker at the workshop. A Founder and Director of Red Hot Business Coaching based in Petone, Lance has a wealth of experience having helped literally hundreds of Wellington business owners during his ten years as a business coach. Lance will be sharing his passion for building businesses and creating personal wealth and will impart some key secrets to business success.

Side Box Top tips for Delegation and Effective Time-Management
1. When directing a task have the person explain back to you what they have understood. This step takes time initially, but often saves hours at the other end.
2. Push your staff into taking responsibility. If competent people keep interrupting you with questions they should be able to handle, ask them to come with two solutions every time they come with a question.
3. Praise and encourage. Managers who recognise the power of praise find it a very effective management tool. Praise releases energy, criticism kills.
4. Remember – once someone is trained, a good team leader directs what needs to be done, not how it’s done.
5. For many of us mornings are our most productive time – use it for the hard work, the creative work, and the thinking work.
