Reckon Accounts Rebrands QuickBooks Offering

Reckon releases its much-anticipated Reckon Accounts business range

The newly rebranded Reckon Accounts business range – formerly known as QuickBooks – launches this week across New Zealand.

Reckon, one of Australasia’s leading accounting software developers, is undergoing a massive rebrand of its entire market-leading suite of software – bringing it all under one single recognisable brand name, Reckon.

The Reckon Accounts business range, up until now known as QuickBooks, includes the Reckon Accounts desktop and online products.

The Reckon Accounts business product is a specialist software designed to provide businesses – from one-man-bands through to SMEs and large enterprises – with greater convenience, improved efficiency and expanded productivity across their entire business. Plus, through Reckon’s online offering businesses are able to access their accounting software on any device and at any time, safely and securely.

“QuickBooks has been Reckon’s market-leading product for some time,” says Catie Cotcher, General Manager for Reckon New Zealand. “With the name change, it will still be the same market-leading product that our customers and Reckon partners know and love, but it will now have a new brand and new name – and, at the same time, even more product functionality and support features.”

The company-wide rebrand of the Reckon product suite comes after the recently announced new arrangement between Reckon and Intuit, the company that designed the original Quicken and QuickBooks product range. The new arrangement allows Reckon to develop its product base further for the Australian and New Zealand markets under the Reckon banner.

“We felt that the timing was right to continue to localise our market leading products for the New Zealand and Australian markets, by bringing these and our other Reckon products under the one recognisable Reckon brand,” says Cotcher. “From here, we are able to build on these in a consistent manner going forward. In particular, we are really excited about our soon-to-be-launched Cloud-based products that will really see Reckon forge ahead.”

The newly named Reckon Accounts business range will now incorporate the Reckon Financial Report Designer (RFSD), a desktop tool previously only available in the Reckon Accounts Hosted product that allows accountants to help their clients meet statutory compliance obligations. There are also added tools for managing Payroll legislation and the new 2013 Reckon Accounts business range is compatible with Windows 8.

Late last year, the Reckon Accounts personal range of software products was the first Reckon product to officially change name – the range previously known as Quicken and aimed at individuals, sole proprietors and small business owners.
