Scenic Hotel Group Managing Director Brendan Taylor says the awards are particularly satisfying as they’re based on the opinions that matter the most – guest ratings. “It’s wonderful to get good feedback from our guests, and to know that they’re actually making the effort to go online and share their experiences at our hotels. We certainly try our best to make everyone feel special and ensure a great stay and it’s very gratifying to have that recognised by our guests.”

Scenic Hotel Group is the largest New Zealand owned and operated hotel chain. It consists of Qualmark 3-star Heartland Hotels and 4-star Scenic Hotels across New Zealand and the Pacific. Multi-million dollar annual investments in refurbishment, renovation and expansion, and a dedication to the best New Zealand suppliers and products keeps the Group at the forefront of domestic and international tourism. The Group was recognised by the New Zealand Tourism Export Council as Operator of the Year 2012.

“Our Scenic and Heartland Hotels are all unique and reflect the region they’re based in. We team warm, honest Kiwi hospitality with international levels of service and presentation, and we’re delighted our guests are consistently providing positive reviews of their experiences,” says Mr Taylor. “Each hotel has to maintain an overall rating of four or higher out of a possible five from a large number of reviews to be award a Certificate of Excellence, so this is a great achievement. We couldn’t do it without a great team, and I offer my congratulations and thanks to all our staff.”
