Gull Holds Prices

Second price rise before the weekend unfair on customers

Auckland, 05 July 2013 – Gull, New Zealand’s only family owned independent fuel retailer today confirmed it was holding prices until after the weekend, despite competitors raising prices twice this week.

A price rise at this time isn’t fair on customers says Dave Bodger, General Manager, Gull New Zealand.

“Customers are most likely fill up towards the end of the week, after pay day, or on the weekend. We’re in it for the kiwi motorist and won’t be raising prices until after the weekend.

“We note that the rest of the market has moved up, but we won’t be.”

About Gull

Gull New Zealand is the independent, family owned oil company credited with keeping the fuel market competitive and delivering fuel savings to the Kiwi motorist. It offers real choice for motorists in an extremely competitive market.

Founded in 1998, and with stable ownership, Gull has been able to continually focus on the best processes and supply chain to get the best price to the Kiwi motorist. Service station design, outlet operation, distribution philosophy, key alliances and a simple approach to business all contribute to lower overheads and delivering better value for the customer.

The company is a first mover, introducing innovative new products to the New Zealand energy market. These include low sulphur diesel and New Zealand’s first biofuel, Gull Force 10. Both fuels brought environmental benefits to motorists well ahead of the opposition. Gull’s “Drive Thru” outlets - with lower cost to develop and no staff on site - are another New Zealand first, bringing further value to the consumer.

Gull has a total of 53 retail outlets. Including Night 'n Day Foodstores, independent Gull sites, marina installations and 11 Drive Thru sites. Geographically retail outlets span between Whangarei and Masterton.
