FC Boats Expands Centre Console Range with new FC640 Model

FC Boats Expands Centre Console Range with new FC640 Model

23 July 2013

Immediate Release

FC Boats has expanded its centre console range with the release of the new FC640 centre console model.

The new craft comes hot on the heels of the newly released and award winning FC600 centre console. The FC600 was a hit with award judges at the recent Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, scooping Boat of the Show Aluminium Fishing Boat Under 6m.

Like the FC600 the FC640 is a sport fishing/diving boat with offshore capabilities yet is still easy to tow on the open road.

“The new FC640 has been designed to appeal to the fisherman or diver who wants to cover long distances in comfort but also wants a large and stable platform once they get there. We’ve taken all the features and characteristics of the FC600 and made a boat that is slightly bigger and roomier,” says Fish City managing director Ross Christensen.

The DNA from the FC600 has been carried over to ensure that a soft ride is provided by a fine entry 20 degree deadrise hull and a valve controlled ballast tank holds over 200 litres to help increase performance in heavier seas.

“The large centre console has been designed to provide protection from the elements while still allowing plenty of room to walk around the whole boat. Plenty of storage space has also been incorporated in an underfloor locker and is big enough for dive bottles.”

Stability is increased with the wide chines and an underfloor flooding keel chamber which when combined with the passive live bait tank, 180L of fuel and the front ballast tank - provides the FC640 with a massive amount of stability.

The raised shear line and extended gunnels increases passenger protection from spray and provides a much drier ride, more fishing room and seating in the bow.

Such is the fishability of the new FC640, two of the new models will feature in the upcoming Match Fishing League Trans Tasman Challenge.

“The Match Fishing Leage needs craft that can easily cater to 5-6 anglers. The layout and configuration of the FC640 means this is easily achievable.”

The aft cockpit has been maximised for fishing with all onboard systems such as batteries housed under the helm console, allowing anglers to get right into the corners of the boat when playing fish.

The aft corners also feature a innovative fold up seating arrangement, that when not in use for passengers, the seat lifts up and fold flush into the corner sections.

The bow floor is raised to provide more surface area for anglers and provides more underfloor storage big enough for dive bottles.

A large chilly bin with squab is positioned in front of the helm console and provides another place for passengers to sit.
