PriceMe Launches v2 iPhone App in time for Xmas Shopping

Finding deals and shopping information on the run, on the couch or in-store has never been easier. Popular NZ comparison shopping site PriceMe has re-launched its iPhone shopping app with loads of new user-friendly features and a fresh new look. Like the previous PriceMe iPhone app, the updated version is still free and is available from the iTunes App Store.

With the proliferation of smartphones and the rise of mobile commerce in New Zealand, consumers are increasingly demanding mobile friendly eCommerce sites and sophisticated mobile apps. PriceMe continues to respond to this demand by developing one of the best shopping apps in NZ.

"The new revamped app is built on the Xamarin mobile development platform, which enables us to leverage cross-browser development. We'll migrate our current Android app to this platform shortly also" informs Chris Palmer, PriceMe's Marketing Director.

New app features include easy-to-use and comprehensive product filters useful for finding the right product, maps for shoppers looking to locate a nearby physical store and its distance and helpful product reviews and specs. There’s also easy bookmarking and management of your favourite products, a faster load-time than the old version and it seems to render particularly well on iPads.

"We're planning to introduce more features to the app over the coming months including search suggestions for relevant products similar to the user’s search term, price alert notifications and barcode scanning. The previous PriceMe iPhone app had around 8,000 downloads since its launch and we expect the revamped version will see an even higher uptake" concludes Palmer.

Being able to walk along Queen St with the PriceMe app open comparing prices from stores and websites from all over NZ with what you see in any store is empowering information for shoppers. It’s no wonder some retailers are getting anxious about the arrival of this technology!
