New Spin On Classic: Fork & Brewer Digitally Remastered IPA

A New Spin On a Classic: Fork & Brewer Digitally Remastered IPA

The Fork & Brewer has recently produced a new spin on a classic New Zealand brew – Yeastie Boys Digital IPA.  Thanks to those nifty QR codes on the bottles, the exact recipe for Digital IPA is freely available on-line.  The Fork’s head brewer, Lester Dunn, studied the recipe then talked to the beer’s creator, Yeastie Boy Stu McKinlay, about how he could put a “different spin” on it.

Utilising Stu’s encyclopaedic knowledge of malts and hops, Lester decided to “boost” the hop additions of Pacific Jade, Nelson Sauvin, Pacifica and Motueka hops.  The beer's malt grist used Golden Promise, Munich, CaraPils and Caramalt – several of which Lester had not worked with before. Again, Stu’s advice was crucial.

The end result is the Fork & Brewer Digitally Remastered IPA (7%).  Lester describes it as an amber beer, full-bodied, with plenty of citrus and a firm bitter finish.  Stu McKinlay and Lester Dunn launched the beer together.  It’s a tasty drop.
