Survey Shows 80% of NZ Want a Monthly Plan Costing $16

MEDIA RELEASE SEPTEMBER 2013

Survey Shows 80% of NZ Want a Simple Monthly Plan Costing $16

With over half of New Zealanders* reported to own a smartphone, a new independent survey** has revealed that Skinny Mobile is ticking all the boxes on price and value with its new $16 Stretch Monthly Prepay Combo.

Paul Taylor, CEO at Skinny, says: “Value and simplicity are what people want from their Telco provider and this is what Skinny Mobile is all about.

“Skinny aims to provide real value to its customers – as well the new $16 Stretch Combo, we provide the lowest priced standard prepay calling and text rates in New Zealand (at 39c per minute and 8c per text) - not to mention the lowest priced SIMs***.”

Cheap calls, texts and data were the top things people liked most about their current mobile phone provider (35%), whilst one in four say they just want good network service.

The majority of Kiwis (64%) also reported they find mobile phone plans “confusing and difficult to understand”, showing better communication was needed from Telco providers.

Nearly half of survey respondents (48%) say they want to spend less than $16 on their monthly mobile bill, yet in reality a 68% say they actually spend more.

Taylor states that “Skinny Mobile is for all New Zealanders that want a great network, great plans and low prices, with our new $16 Stretch Combo being New Zealand’s lowest priced Monthly Prepay Combo deal***. As well as being affordable, it provides 90 minutes of talk-time, unlimited texts to New Zealand and Australia – not to mention 500MB of data****.
