FedEx New Zealand Lends a Helping Hand

Christchurch, Sept 26, 2013—FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYS: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has completed its sixth annual FedEx Cares Week in the Asia Pacific region. On 21 September, 9 volunteers from Christchurch teamed up with Travis Wetland Nature Heritage Park, a lowland freshwater wetland, and got their hands dirty to help plant trees. The park supports a healthy population of wildlife and plant species and is used for recreation purposes and nature studies from many educational groups.

From September 7-15 over 1,000 FedEx Asia Pacific volunteers committed more than 4,000 hours in 36 community activities and made a difference in people’s lives. With a global theme of “Uncommon Heroes, Common Good.”, this year’s projects included cleaning up parks and coastlines, preparing and distributing meals for the needy, providing care for disadvantaged children, and promoting environmentally responsible behavior.
