Wellington’s first queer-owned and operated wedding company

Wellington’s first queer-owned and operated wedding company open for business

WELLINGTON, 4 October, 2013 – Looking to fill a void in the local wedding industry, Wellington’s first queer-owned and operated wedding company, Queer Eye Weddings, has officially launched. The company will offer Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) couples in the Wellington, Kapiti and Wairapa regions, specialised photography, videography and planning services catering to their needs.

Whether a couple is looking for unique save-the-date videos or cards, love story videos, comprehensive photography or videography coverage of their wedding day, or a planning package, which is uniquely flexible to the needs of the couple, Queer Eye Weddings can accommodate.

Founders Elisa Brewdant and Francesca Jago are excited to announce the launch of Queer Eye Weddings: “Having already been through years of struggle to get this far, LGBT couples who want to get married should be able to come to a wedding company and know they will be taken complete care of. Queer Eye Weddings is that company. We work with other gay-owned and gay-friendly businesses in the area, and embrace the traditional alongside the gay-nique.

“The queer wedding market may be seen as small, but it is in no way less important. We want to make a difference by giving couples the service they need with the understanding and support they deserve,” says Francesca.

“We recognised a gap in the wedding market for the growing need for LGBT couples to come for wedding planning. Somewhere they knew they would not be judged or turned away,” continued Francesca.

Queer Eye Weddings is also reaching out to couples in Australia who are interested in a destination wedding. This is one of the primary reasons behind the company’s planning service, which couples can tailor to suit their requirements.
