Hampsta drops Countdown for Supermarket online

Hampsta customers will now be able to buy all their grocery essentials for Christmas without stepping foot inside a supermarket.

Online grocery retailer Supermarket Online is joining Hampsta the Christmas savings programme as its supermarket partner replacing Countdown.

Hampsta General Manager Gary Alway says Hampsta members will be able select their household staples as often as they like over the Christmas period and have them delivered direct to their door.

“Our goal is to ensure Hampsta members get value, security and choice from specialist retailers, such as the Mad Butcher, Super Liquor, Noel Leeming, Briscoes and Rebel Sport to name a few in the group. Supermarket Online is the perfect fit as a specialist retailer with the added convenience of home delivery.”

“Supermarket Online is a great new New Zealand start-up company offering shoppers choice from the big grocery duopoly coupled with exceptional customer service, and we are very pleased to have them on board as part of the Hampsta family,” says Gary.

Supermarket Online launched in September this year with the intention of making life So Much Easier for families to stock-pile their grocery dry-goods and have them delivered direct to home or holiday destination.

Supermarket Online ships nationwide and with owners Kevin and Pia D’Ambros-Smith being pioneers of e-commerce in New Zealand.

Pia D’Ambros-Smith says she and Kevin have more than 10 years’ experience in online retailing with Nappies Direct.

“Our experience means customers can shop online with confidence knowing they are going to get a great experience, secure payment and reliable delivery,” she says.

Pia says shopping online, especially during the hectic Christmas season will be welcomed by many busy Kiwis.

“During the Christmas season, no one wants to spend hours battling crowds in a supermarket. We’re pleased to team up with hampsta so their members across the country can buy themselves extra time to do the things they love and spend more time with their loved ones over the festive season – not in a grocery store,” says Pia.
