Building Platform for Business Growth

Media Statement

Building Platform for Business Growth

Learning how to keep your business alive and growing has just become easier through the Business for Six mentoring programme offered by the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Mark Futter and June Ranson, Managing Director of Woburn International who jointly chair Business for Six are helping business owners share and learn about building a foundation for success.

“Business needs a solid platform on which to build and grow and Business for Six provides practical help in getting the basics established to create opportunities for growth,” he says.

“Business owners are enrolling because they need support in looking inside their own business to consider what they are offering and then turning to the market to see development opportunities.

“We guide them in making decisions that are sometimes outside their comfort zone.”

Mr Futter says a high number of businesses do not survive beyond five years often because the right processes were not laid down at the beginning.

“Business for Six concentrates on allowing individual business owners to work within a structured programme guided by the business development experience of our mentors.

“We are able to provide a practical approach to applying sound business practice in a way that is encouraging and helpful to the individual business owner,” he says.

One course attendee who believes the Business for Six programme is good for business seeking support in getting back on track, is Adaptive Technologies Managing Director Genevieve McLauchlan.

“Business for Six provides the personal support to look at the real possibilities for my business,” she says.

Genevieve has moved her website into online shopping and is now looking at rebranding her company in the new year.

“The programme has given me a whole new lift and a direction that will build my enterprise<” she says.

Business for Six is run by the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce for more information contact Anna Geremia-Young on 04 939 9826 or anna@hutt-chamber.org.nz.
