Buying Local Pays
In the right place at the right time

When Damon and Jason headed down to Pak N Save early on Sunday morning the last thing they expected was to be walking away with a trolley full of free groceries. While Mum, who is a shift worker, was sleeping the duo took the opportunity to slip out and do their weekly shop, only this week the staff at Pak N Save were keeping their eyes peeled for a customer they felt deserved a free lunch and several dinners to boot.

Jason Priston and his family moved back to New Zealand after a long spell in Australia just under a year ago and are still settling in to Whanganui. They didn’t even know the ‘buy local’ promotion was happening at Pak n Save so were very surprised but happily so.

Pak N Save will be giving one more lucky customer their groceries for free and next month it will be just in time for Christmas! “Next month is the one I have been looking forward to most,” says Elise Goodge marketing manager for Mainstreet Wanganui. “Christmas can be a very difficult time of year financially for many people so seeing even just a little of the financial burden lifted off a customer’s shoulders will be wonderful.”
