November 26 2013

Auckland restaurant supports Auckland City Mission for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday 28 November and popular eatery Miss Clawdy, founded by the Wiley Boys, is celebrating by supporting the Auckland City Mission.

Description: Macintosh HD:Users:Fresh3:Desktop:photo[1].JPGTo give thanks to all their loyal supporters and give back to the Auckland community, Miss Clawdy will be inviting diners to bring in a canned good in exchange for a slice of their Thanksgivin’ pumpkin pie. All canned goods collected at the end of the evening will be donated to Auckland City Mission.

“We wanted to do something different to show our thanks to the Auckland community and our goal is to get as many canned goods as possible from our diners to help those at the City Mission house,” says Tom Wiley, co-founder of Miss Clawdy.

Food and drink enthusiasts will not only be invited to practice the art of giving thanks but can enjoy a special Thanksgiving menu available only on Thursday 28 November. The menu includes a Thanksgiving po’ boy, made with pulled turkey, green apple, cabbage slaw and mustard topped with homemade cranberry that will entice diners with a taste of Thanksgiving southern magic. In addition, a traditional pumpkin pie with salted pepita praline will satisfy the appetite.

To top it all off, diners can toast the day with a glass of ‘The Slow Co’. A Thanksgiving cocktail of spiced Orange and Southern Comfort with cranberry juice and ginger beer.
