Board Changes for New Zealand Drug Detection Agency

Board Changes for New Zealand Drug Detection Agency

The New Zealand Drug Detection Agency (NZDDA) has announced changes to its board of directors. Lyle Irwin becomes chairman and Ant Carter is appointed a director to join executive director Chris Hilson.

NZDDA’s new chairman, Lyle Irwin, is a partner with North Shore chartered accounting firm RSM Prince. Leading the firm’s tax team, Lyle has strong national and international taxation skills together with corporate governance and directorship experience. Lyle is currently a director on a number of client company boards, and is presently chair of telecommunications company, Fibre Options NZ Limited.

“Having worked within NZDDA for some years it’s a privilege to be appointed chairman and work with a company that has growth and opportunity at its feet,” says Lyle. “The company’s vision, supported by its quality offering, highly motivated team and continuous improvement strategy, make every day challenging, inspirational and decisive - just the mix on path to success."

New director Ant Carter is managing director of Lateral Leadership Ltd, executive chairman of NZ Breakers Basketball and also works in an advisory role for a number of PaknSave stores in the North Island. He was an officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy from 1989-2002.

Ant says he’s excited to join the NZDDA board. “It’s a great fit with my retail and professional sporting interests. Both industries demand drug-free environments and to be able to contribute at a strategic level holds immense appeal.”

NZDDA supplies specialist services for companies that conduct on-site workplace drug and alcohol testing. The company is considered to be the leader in its field. Established in 2005, NZDDA has 20 branch offices throughout the country located from Whangarei to Invercargill.
