Announcement of the new Chief Executive Katrina Shanks

It is the Board’s pleasure to announce that Katrina Shanks has been appointed as the new Chief Executive for the Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand.

Katrina Shanks commencement will start on the 3 February 2014.

“Katrina brings her experience as a Chartered Accountant, Financial Controller in a membership based organisation and her recent experience as a National Member of Parliament” Eion McKinnon said.

“A strategic vision, strong membership focus and industry voice are areas of Katrina’s strengths which we believe will allow the association to be sustainable for the future”.

“The future of the funeral services sector is changing due to demographic, societal and legislative influences and it is important that the association positions itself to face the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead”.

We would like to acknowledge Robyn Grooby for her long service to the Association and the stewardship in which she has served the sector.
