Quickflix signs agreement with Documentary Edge

Quickflix signs ground-breaking agreement with Documentary Edge

Quickflix and the Documentary New Zealand Trust announce today that they have entered into an agreement to bring a wide range of acclaimed documentary films onto the Quickflix platform.

The Documentary New Zealand Trust is the promoter of the Documentary Edge Festival, New Zealand’s only and Australasia's premiere international documentary film festival held annually in Auckland and Wellington. The Festival showcases leading documentary films from New Zealand and around the world.

Under the agreement, leading documentary films from recent editions of the festival will be available as pay-per-view titles on Quickflix, meaning that Quickflix members and non-members alike will be able to stream widely-acclaimed documentary titles instantly and on demand across Quickflix's platform of devices for as little as $4.99 per title.

Paddy Buckley, Managing Director of Quickflix NZ, said "I'm very pleased to announce our relationship with the Documentary New Zealand Trust. Every year, more than 10,000 people attend the Documentary Edge Festival to watch a great range of award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary films. This deal means that many of those films will soon be available for viewing at home through Quickflix. We know that Kiwis love documentaries and we're delighted to be able to support the Trust, the Festival and the documentary genre in general."

Dan Shanan, Executive Director of the Documentary New Zealand Trust, said “Recognising the importance of innovative and digital technology, we are proud to partner with Quickflix and extend Documentary Edge’s reach beyond the traditional festival venue by streaming documentaries across multiple devices. We are excited to bring Documentary Edge selections to wider audiences across New Zealand and Australia as well as for filmmakers to connect their films to new communities. With the absence of a public television channel in New

Zealand and the limited slots for documentaries on local channels, Quickflix is the perfect alternative platform for viewing quality documentaries."
