Hawaii Hits All Time High with Kiwi Travellers

Hawaii Hits All Time High with Kiwi Travellers

More Kiwis than ever are travelling to Hawaii with Flight Centre New Zealand reporting a whopping 65% booking increase in 2013, compared to the previous year. The outer islands of Hawaii are also proving to be the most popular holiday add-on with an increase of almost 80% year-on-year.

Backed by Statistics New Zealand reporting the biggest increase in departures in 2013 was to the United States (US), Flight Centre is also reporting a booking increase of almost 30% to Los Angeles and 25% to New York.

To help Kiwis book their 2014 holiday, Travel Expo, New Zealand’s largest travel show, is being held in Wellington on 02 February 2014. Hosted by Flight Centre Limited, the annual Travel Expo provides travel information, holiday packages, cruises and exclusive flight discounts, all available on the day.

Flight Centre New Zealand’s managing director, Mike Friend, said that Hawaii and the US is going from strength-to-strength and this is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to book an overseas holiday for 2014.

“Hawaii and the US offers the ultimate ‘shop, surf and sun’ holiday. In comparison to other traditionally popular holiday destinations, it’s also very affordable once you’re there because of the huge range of options available.

“Combined with the option of stopping in both the US and Hawaii on the one airfare ticket means Kiwis are getting more value for money than ever,” Mr Friend said.

“In an already buoyant market, we are expecting this to be a very successful Travel Expo. With exclusive deals available on the day, Travel Expo is the perfect time to book your next holiday.”

Travel Expo will be held at TSB Bank Arena and will offer exclusive flight specials for a range of destinations across the globe, as well as travel presentations, information about touring, cruising, adventure travel, travel insurance and more.

“With exhibitors from around the world and expert consultants from Flight Centre, Cruiseabout, Student Flights and Travel Money on hand to provide you with the latest information on all destinations, Travel Expo is the place to go for anything travel related.”

Travel Expo will also be taking place in Auckland on 15 & 16 February and Christchurch on 23 February 2014.

All attendees will have the chance to go in the draw to win a holiday for two to Fiji, Vietnam or Hawaii and Los Angeles. Customers booking on the day can also be in to win their holiday back for free.
