Power restored to Hawkes Bay area

10 April 2014

Transpower advises that all power is now restored to around 80,000 homes and businesses following a power outage this afternoon.

The cause of the outage was simultaneous lightning strikes on two of the major transmission circuits running into the Hawkes Bay area.

We would like to apologise to those in the affected areas for the inconvenience.
