Hamilton Hairdressers, The Engine Room launch their new shopping app in Style

To celebrate their new on-line shopping app, The Engine Room was host to a bevy of local businesses and a who’s who of the Hamilton social scene on Friday night.

Developed by Hamilton-based MediaPA, it allows customers to shop via a businesses’ Facebook page in an easy-to-use manner.

Leading Waikato hairdressers The Engine Room are the first to utilise the custom-built app. They are leaders in the beauty and fashion industry by offering their products which are now being sold online through their popular Facebook page.

“We have a great range of products that will suit all hair types, so it’s really exciting to be able to put these products for sale on our Facebook page,” says Kaleb Phillipe.

Guests can now see The Engine Room’s brilliant range of products all in the one place in the shop. It has an integrated e-commerce platform that includes extensions to include Facebook e-commerce.

“There is no doubt that 2014 will be the year that online shopping grows exponentially and it provides an opportunity for every business to develop sales well beyond their local market, even into the global market,” says Phillip Quay, CEO of MediaPA.

In attendance at Friday night’s function was Camille Buscomb, who The Engine Room sponsor through social giving. From Hamilton, Camille Buscomb is New Zealand’s leading female middle-distance athlete.

Also in attendance was Hamilton East MP David Bennett who made the business card draw.
