Count Down to Nelson Home & Garden Show

Spring is here and so is the Nelson Home & Garden Show! For three days from 10-12 October, over 170 exhibitors will gather at the Saxton Stadium to wow show-goers with the latest trends and innovations for beautifying the home.

Visitors will be able to seek expert advice on landscaping, plants, kitchens, furniture, flooring, barbeques, energy efficiency and everything in between. Plans, measurements and questions are welcome. Better still, many products and services will be at bargain show-only prices and they will all be located under the one roof.

One lucky visitor will win the Simplytravel ‘Day in the Life of a Movie Star’ for four people. In association with More FM Nelson, it includes the use of a classic convertible for the day, a helicopter flight over the Abel Tasman National Park, landing in a remote ‘Hobbit’ location for morning tea. This is followed by an afternoon Gourmet Sailing trip, with lunch included, along the Abel Tasman Coastline. To enter, show visitors need only enter their details in one of the ten computer terminals at the show entrance.

Show features include a free seminar titled ‘Inspired Designs for Nelson Gardens’ by award-winning landscape designer, James Wheatley, at 2 pm on the Saturday and Sunday. There will be other free seminars as well, from industry experts speaking daily on interior design, landscaping, solar power, kitchens and choosing colour.

The ‘Second Chances’ upcycling exhibition will showcase kiwi ingenuity, displaying artworks like slide guitars made from hub caps and kitchen utensils, where everyday objects that have been reborn in quirky new forms. The whole family can also have fun at the Resene painting competition, which runs Paint-a-Pot for kids and Paint-a-Gnome for adults on the Saturday and Sunday 10 am-2 pm. More FM Nelson will also be there with giveaways and the prize wall, which proved so popular last year.

So for inspiration and innovation for indoors or out, visit the Nelson Home & Garden Show!
