Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner a finalist

Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner finalist in Best Workplaces

Office of the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner named as finalist in IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Survey for 2014

The Office of the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner (EGCC) today announced it is a finalist in the small category of the 2014 IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Survey and Awards. The annual programme is New Zealand’s largest and longest running study of workplace climate and employee engagement, and identifies the best places to work in New Zealand as rated by their employees.

“We focus on delivering best practice complaint resolution for the electricity and gas sectors, and being a great workplace helps us achieve that goal,” says Judi Jones, Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner. “We won the small business category in 2001, and this is the fourth year in a row we’ve been finalists,” says Ms Jones.

Participating organisations ask their employees to complete a confidential survey about their workplace between May and August. Employees grade their workplace and employers across key categories including leadership, culture, recognition and engagement.

“I would like to congratulate the EGCC on achieving finalist status in the IBM Kenexa Best Workplaces Survey and Awards. The programme is a great acknowledgement of their commitment to ensuring their organisation is great place to work for their employees,” says Leighton Abbot, Senior Consultant, IBM Smarter Workforces, New Zealand.
