Māori Television confirms resignation of Carol Hirschfeld

MEDIA STATEMENT

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2014

MĀORI TELEVISION CONFIRMATION
Māori Television has confirmed the resignation of General Manager Production Carol Hirschfeld.

Chief Executive Paora Maxwell said Ms Hirschfeld had decided not to accept the newly aligned position of HOD Internal Productions, or to apply for the leadership role of Head of Programming & Production in the proposed restructure of the organisation.

Mr Maxwell acknowledged Ms Hirschfeld’s significant contribution to Māori Television since joining the organisation in 2009.

“Carol’s experience across journalism and production, her instinct for quality programming, and the professional development opportunities staff have benefited from, by working alongside her have resulted in growth throughout Māori Television,” said Mr Maxwell.

“She is a popular member of the team and will be missed. We wish her every success with the professional challenges she chooses to undertake in the future in her new role with Radio NZ.”

Ms Hirschfeld’s final day with Maori TV will be at the end of the month.
