Victoria’s Cafe Kitchen Bar Opens

Taupō’s café and restaurant scene just got a whole lot brighter and exciting.

This week Victoria Taylor and Grant Yates opened the new door to their redesigned café and kitchen bar and it’s already humming with compliments and approval from satisfied customers.

Previously Sierra Café, under the big red cup on Tongariro Street, Victoria has left the franchise family to share her individual style, love of hospitality and good food with the world.

“Think modern and classy, eclectic and fun,” says Vik. “Our amazing team’s helped shape and create what’s been a dream of ours for quite awhile, and our chefs have styled the food to give it a Wow as well as creating menus to suit our range of guests – from the super hungry, the café crowd and people with more delicate appetites,” she says.

Victoria’s Cafe Kitchen Bar is open seven days from early in the morning, still serving great Sierra coffee, till late (Thursday to Monday). She knows there’s a challenge in being a café, bar and restaurant, but under multi-talented head chef and food critic, Mike Baker who’s returned from a stellar career in Australia to open Victoria’s, Vik is confident they have a winning formula.

“Our aim is for Victoria’s to be the place of choice and somewhere that’s top of the mind to come to. Our food is fresh, affordable, delicious, honest, modern and tasty and our cocktails – well they are simply outstanding!”
