Potential Of Pacific Business To Be Recognised At Expo

Potential Of Pacific Business To Be Recognised At Expo

Recent New Zealand Trade and Enterprise information states the Pacific is New Zealand’s 6th largest export market worth over NZD$1.5 billion.

Significant opportunities exist in the Pacific, which is a market second only to Australia in terms of numbers of New Zealand Exporters doing business. New Zealand exports more, in total value, to the three French Pacific territories than it does to France. Currently the region is experiencing significant investment from China and the USA.

Cultural and business award winning Pasifika Entrepreneur Stan Wolfgramm of Drum Productions responsible for the Iconic NZ fashion event Westfield Style Pasifika says ‘All in all these factors reflect how the economic potential has grown for pasifika people, not just in the pacific but especially for New Zealand as a pacific nation of influence with a new generation of skilled and entrepreneurial pasifika people. It’s a prime time for New Zealand to host annually a significant hub for that potential to develop further with benefits for all peoples of the pacific’.

Mr Wolfgramm has teamed up with fellow Pasifika entrepreneurs Sean Rota, Julie Smith, Rachel Afeaki and Lui Tusani to create the inaugural Pasifika Asia NZ Business Expo strategically chosen to run in Auckland city, the largest Polynesian city in the world, along side the Pasifika Festival, the largest Pacific festival in the world.

The Expo will take place over the same weekend as the iconic Pasifika Festival from the 13th to the 15th of March 2015 and held in the adjacent Western Springs Stadium under a super marquee open free to festival goers to view businesses and products on display and for sale.

‘Besides the opportunity to exhibit and sell to an audience of ten’s of thousands, the networking and business-to-business opportunities will be enormous during an opening ceremony, seminars, a sporting event and a VIP luncheon, with many officials from pacific nations attending including Prime Ministers, Trade Ministers as well as leaders of business, buyers, sellers and financiers. No business is too big or too small to not benefit from the Expo.’ says Wolfgramm.

Unique to the PANZ Business Expo is the assistance of its business development panel made up of professionals who will offer strategic advice and support to maximise participants returns. Another door opener is the expos definition of a pasifika business as being any business that brings benefits to pacific people especially Asian businesses opening new markets to pacific business.

Wolfgramm adds “It’s a great time to capitalise on the significance and diversity of pasifika business demonstrated by the enquires we’ve had from the likes of businesses in the services industry to the building sector to art and craft, IT, sports, foods to cosmetics, eco energy to tourism. What better place to do business in the pacific than at Auckland cities Pasifika Festival where not only are we embracing our cultural place in the pacific but also ensuring we are developing better economic pathways for the future of pasifika peoples at the Pasifika Asia NZ Business Expo.”

The inaugural Pasifika Asia NZ Business Expo is scheduled for the 13 to 15 March 2015.
