Magic Memories adds finance and IT leaders to Board

Magic Memories adds finance and IT leaders to its Board of Directors

International photographic solutions company, Magic Memories, is pleased to announce cloud computing pioneer Craig Elliot and corporate finance and investment expert Dean Hamilton as the newest members of its Board of Directors.

San Francisco-based Elliott is a high-tech executive who brings a wealth of experience to the Magic Memories board, with 29 years of international management, sales and marketing experience focusing on networking and communications products and services. Among a very long list of personal and commercial achievements, Craig is currently CEO of cloud computing firm Pertino and a board member of accounting software company Xero. He successfully grew and sold IT company Packeteer, and was a global executive for Apple computers.

Queenstown-based Hamilton is managing director of independent corporate advisory practice Hamilton & Co. He has spent 13 years with Deutsche Bank, most recently having spent seven years leading its Melbourne investment banking business, where he was head of industrial and private equity coverage for Australia and New Zealand. His extensive experience includes advising a wide range of high profile corporations, private equity firms, co-operatives and family-owned businesses across mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and initial public offerings. He has also held a series of senior management roles in NZ.

Magic Memories chairman Mark Bowman is excited about having people with huge credentials, like that of Elliot and Hamilton, involved with the progressive company: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Craig and Dean to our board. To ensure Magic Memories continues to be highly successful on the international stage we wanted to find and attract the best people with the right DNA. We need world-class individuals with proven local knowledge and drive, but also the kind of people we want to work with, and who want to work with us – we think that Craig and Dean tick all the boxes.”

Bowman adds: “Magic Memories has made no secret of the fact that we have a lot of ambition for the North American market and Craig will be hugely effective in helping us achieve our goals. And as the company continues to grow, capital will be an increasingly important ingredient to funding that growth. We are delighted that Dean, with such a broad range of experiences across senior management roles, finance and capital markets, has agreed to join our board.”

Elliott says he’s relishing the prospect of getting stuck in with the team at Magic Memories: “It’s wonderful to be involved in another Kiwi company with large aspirations that already has a superb track record of delivery. I’m really looking forward to being part of a great team, and having the opportunity to help Magic Memories develop its full potential on the international stage. The focus and energy of this team is contagious – who wouldn’t get excited about being part of a business that’s already winning?” he says.

Elliott, a long-standing fan of New Zealand, adds: “Working with Magic Memories gives me even more of a reason to get back to my second home in Wanaka.”

Hamilton says: “My intention was to land in Queenstown for a six-month sabbatical and I ended up staying. Working with a fast-moving, innovative company that has so much opportunity on a global level is certainly an exciting place to land.”
