New Watercare CEO Announced

New Watercare CEO Announced

The Board of Watercare Services Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Raveen Jaduram as new CEO, effective immediately. Mr Jaduram’s appointment follows a national and international recruitment search. Mr Jaduram has been acting CEO since January when the previous CEO, the late Mark Ford, went on long-term sick leave. Mr Jaduram has been involved in the management of water and wastewater for 24 years - water management is his passion.

Prior to returning to Watercare in 2012, Mr Jaduram was the CEO of Murrumbidgee Irrigation Ltd in Australia. He was CEO of Manukau Water Ltd when that company was corporatised in 2006 and Chief Operating Officer at Watercare during the 2010 integration of the water services functions across the Auckland region. He holds honours and masters degrees in civil engineering from the University of Auckland and has undertaken post-graduate studies in business at Stanford, Macquarie and the University of Auckland.

Watercare Chairman David Clarke said Mr Jaduram had demonstrated an extraordinary ability to take over the reins at short notice while continuing to meet all of the day-to-day KPIs.

"Raveen’s management style is very inclusive, which is well-liked by staff,” said Mr Clarke.

“He also has excellent relationships with key stakeholders including Council, Government and iwi, all of which are very important in today's transparent infrastructure environment," Mr Clarke said.

Mr Jaduram will have overall responsibility for 780 staff, the daily delivery of 326 million litres of high quality drinking water and the treatment and safe disposal of 378 million litres of wastewater, and a proposed infrastructure programme of $3.8 billion over the coming decade.
