Boutique pre-wedding venue and accommodation for sale

Boutique pre-wedding venue and accommodation for sale

A luxurious West Auckland pre-wedding venue and accommodation business has been placed on the market for sale.

HighRidge is a boutique Italian style villa built on 4.3 hectares of landscaped grounds, specialising in the growing pre-wedding market, with an established reputation in the industry. Situated only 25 minutes’ drive from the CBD in the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges, the property’s accessibility to the city and its spectacular views of the grounds and surrounding native forest are a huge drawcard for pre-wedding packages including preparations, photos and accommodation.

The freehold property located at 16 Gum Road is being sold as a going concern by Bayleys through a tender process closing on December 4. It is being marketed by Bayleys Auckland central salespeople Paul Dixon and Duncan Ritchie.

Mr Dixon said: “The property combines the best of both worlds – a tranquil sanctuary with stunning views over the Waitakere Ranges yet easily accessible from the city”.

Drawn by architectural designer Bruce Shadwick, the 512 sqm two-storey villa built in 2002 exudes Mediterranean sophistication and luxury. The contemporary design features imported Italian porcelain flooring, roof tiles from Spain, locally-made solid cedar window shutters and detailed cedar doors. All rooms have an extended 3.6m ceiling height.

Since opening in 2008, High Ridge has built a strong reputation as a boutique pre-wedding and event venue, catering to small and medium-sized groups, said Mr Dixon. Pre-wedding packages can include arranging on-site hairdressers and make-up specialists for the bridal party, a finger food lunch, transport to the ceremony, and accommodation and breakfast.

Mr Dixon said HighRidge is ideally located near a number of popular wedding venues including, Cassels, Waitakere Estate, Artisan, Soljans Estate Winery, Gracehill Vineyard Estate and Lincoln Green Motor Hotel.

In addition to pre-wedding packages, HighRidge has been used for several other events such as cooking classes, chocolate tasting, wine tasting, jewellery workshops, celebrity interviews, product photo shoots and as a Shortland Street location.

“The north-facing property opens to a grand foyer and offers five bedrooms, one of which has its own mini kitchen. All rooms have ensuites and a private balcony overlooking the manicured gardens, ponds and a fountain, said Mr Dixon.

The villa also features a designer kitchen, two living areas with gas fire places, a laundry, two dining rooms for breakfast, a study and a cellar. There is underfloor heating throughout. Outside there is parking for eight cars.

“In a market flooded with options, very few stand out as having the level of quality, facilities, service and picturesque location HighRidge offers. This is a stand-out, aspirational property that ticks all the boxes,” said Mr Dixon.

The wedding market continues to flourish, with couples increasingly looking for beautiful and romantic locations for the bride to be and entourage to make preparations for the wedding moment. Close to 20,000 weddings take place in New Zealand each year, according to Statistics New Zealand.

Wedding tourism makes up an increasing amount of that with more than 2000 couples travelling to New Zealand each year to marry here. The natural beauty and personalised wedding options on offer are significant attractions for couples who travel here.

Mr Dixon said HighRidge catered to these needs, offering a stunning location, tailored pre-event options and staff who are experienced at helping to create the dream day for clients.

“This special slice of New Zealand is just waiting for a new owner to take over this highly-regarded, luxury property and take it to the next step,” he said.

“This well-presented, niche business would suit an investor or owner/operator. HighRidge has an established reputation that caters to a range of guests from international travellers to Kiwi couples and offers an ideal location for all,” said Mr Dixon.
