ManaBus.com Carries its First Passengers

Auckland to Wellington Services Commence

Auckland, 21 November 2014 – ManaBus.com, the new fast, friendly and affordable city to city express coach operator, commences its first passenger services today, with coaches operating between Auckland and Wellington.

Following weeks of driver and attendant training, brand new, luxury double deck ManaBus.com coaches left both Auckland and Wellington at 10am this morning, and will arrive at their destination at the opposite end of the North Island in under ten hours.

Geoff Norman, CEO, says the entire ManaBus.com team has been working tirelessly towards the 21 November launch date.

“We are really excited to see all the hard work and training culminate in the launch of ManaBus.com’s first passenger services. From today our ManaBus.com coaches will be out there on the roads, serving our customers and getting them to their destinations quickly, safely and comfortably.

“We think that our passengers will love ManaBus.com’s free Wi-Fi and at seat power points, our comfortable coaches with luxury reclining leather seats and air-conditioning, and, of course, our great value fares. We also think that they will enjoy our excellent customer service, professional friendly drivers, consistent quality and reliable operations.”

Around 70 ManaBus.com staff have been hired, with most new jobs based in regional centres around the North Island.

Rotorua based ManaBus.com driver Hana Meihana says she is looking forward to getting behind the wheel and being of service to customers.

“Being part of the ManaBus.com team has given me the chance to get back into coach driving, which I absolutely love. I’m looking forward to meeting and greeting our customers and sharing my local knowledge with them.

“Working with an on-board attendant means that I can concentrate on driving, while passengers are taken care of. It’s a great arrangement and one that I know customers will appreciate. The coaches are amazing; they’re a smooth ride, easy to drive and super comfortable,” says Hana.

Corazon Clark, ManaBus.com attendant, based in Hamilton says she is blessed to be part of ManaBus.com.

“We have been really well looked after during training. I can’t wait to get out there and start taking care of our passengers, welcoming them, looking after their luggage and serving them onboard. The bus is lovely, and I am really excited about getting started.”

All ManaBus.com’s services are express services, with fewer stops and no long breaks in the middle of journeys, meaning that ManaBus.com can offer passengers industry-leading travel times at exceptionally low fares. Tickets for ManaBus.com’s services can be booked online at www.manabus.com, with prices starting from $1 plus a $1 booking fee. There are no hidden or last minute charges or fees and pricing includes luggage, free Wi-Fi and at-seat power. On selected journeys passengers will be served complimentary refreshments by customer service attendants, including water, tea, coffee and snacks such as cookies, ice cream and bakery items. There are also toilet facilities on every coach.

Services on other ManaBus.com routes will be phased in during December. By 19 December ManaBus.com will serve eight major North Island destinations: Auckland, Manukau, Hamilton, Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupo, Wellington and Whangarei, including seven connections a day between Hamilton and Auckland.

“We are really excited about the future of ManaBus.com and can’t wait to welcome our customers on board. We’ll all be working hard to make sure they have the best possible experience each and every time they travel with us,” says Mr Norman.
