HealthPost.co.nz honoured as Most Trustworthy in New Zealand

HealthPost.co.nz honoured as ‘Most Trustworthy’ in New Zealand

HealthPost.co.nz receives international online security award alongside giants NZ Post, Trade Me, and Xero

The website of Golden Bay-based HealthPost is one of just four to be honoured today as the ‘Most Trustworthy’ in New Zealand, and one of 21 in Australasia, according to the international Online Trust Alliance (OTA).

The OTA, a non-profit organisation in the United States dedicated to enhancing online trust and user empowerment around the globe, announced its 2014 Australia/New Zealand (ANZ) Honour Roll following this year’s audit of consumer and government websites around the world.

In the audit, the HealthPost website excelled in all three of the scoring categories: domain, brand and consumer protection; data protection, privacy and transparency; and site, server and infrastructure security.

HealthPost CEO Abel Butler says the company has always been committed to the highest ethical practices in all parts of its business.

"Having our customers trust us is as crucial to HealthPost as great products, customer service and ethics,” says Butler. “To be included in the ‘ANZ Online Trust Audit and Honour Roll’ for online privacy and data protection practises - in the company of just three other New Zealand organisations, and ones of such high calibre - really is an honour.”

OTA’s Executive Director, Founder and President Craig Spiezle says, “The Online Trust Audit shows HealthPost has a high regard for its customers’ data and privacy by implementing the most up-to-date internet security protocols and practices. This should give their customers confidence that they are shopping at an online retailer that respects them and is earnest about protecting their personal data.”

Mr Butler says that HealthPost wishes to share the honour with the site’s developer Lero9 in Auckland.

Lero9’s Robert Popovic says the naming of HealthPost to the ANZ Honour Roll comes as little surprise to him, given HealthPost’s honest and ethical nature. “The team at Lero9 has worked to provide a feature-rich, robust and secure ecommerce system and we perform on-going checks and enhancements to ensure the integrity of the HealthPost brand is upheld.”

Mr Butler adds, “We are now looking into implementing more of the online privacy and data protection best practises OTA identified. We believe that people have a right to expect that the organisations who they share their personal information with online will take that responsibility seriously.”

OTA’s ANZ Audit & Honour Roll
In the 2014 ANZ Audit & Honour Roll, HealthPost was named alongside Kiwi companies New Zealand Post, Trade Me and Xero, as well as 17 from Australia. These 21 companies are also included in the OTA Global Honour Roll, which is made up of only 26 percent of the approximately 800 websites audited worldwide.

The selection of sites to the ANZ 150 was based on a combination of factors including consumer site traffic within Australia and New Zealand, prevalence of past brand jacking or phishing exploits and industry sector leadership. The complete 2014 ANZ 150 Audit & Honour Roll report and methodology can be accessed at https://otalliance.org/HonourRoll.
