Innovation Partnership Coming to Gigatown

Innovation Partnership Coming to Gigatown

The Innovation Partnership will meet in Dunedin in February, to discuss how the city can make the most of the opportunity from winning Gigatown.

Innovation Partnership Chair Murray Sherwin congratulated Dunedin on winning Gigatown, and announced that the next meeting of the Partnership would be in Dunedin in February 2015 to discuss how the Partnership can help Dunedin make its digital strategy a success.

“Dunedin has done an amazing job, driving its social media campaign, and putting together a digital strategy which shows how well prepared they are to take advantage of high-speed internet,” said Mr Sherwin.

“Each of the other towns has also done an incredible job throughout the competition, and the work that they have done has got them ready to make the most of UFB when it arrives. Each of these towns deserves to be congratulated, and will do impressive things in the future”

The Partnership met in Christchurch today to discuss how Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) will help the rebuilt city succeed in the future, and how rural New Zealand can make the most of Rural Broadband Initiative.

The meeting in Dunedin will identify opportunities and initiatives that the Partnership and its members can support, and how the Partnership help locals make the most of the opportunity in front of them.
