Salt & Pepper PR Recruits Renowned Global F&B Specialist

1 December 2014

Salt & Pepper PR Recruits Renowned Global F&B Specialist to Head up Baked Goods and Confectionery Division

Salt & Pepper PR, an Auckland based food and beverage public relations agency, has caused a stir in communications circles by recruiting one of the world’s best known food specialists. The new director, who will start this month, will specialise in managing the consultancy’s baked goods and confectionery accounts.

Starting on the 24 December, Mr. Kringle will use his 500 years of experience working with consumers and FMCG products, to create effective and impactful campaigns for clients throughout New Zealand and Australia.

“Kris has the charisma, confidence and creativity that we look for in any new employee,” explains Salt & Pepper Managing Director, Jennifer Boyes. “He has extensive experience already in the global F&B industry, especially with confectionery, chocolate and baked goods brands. He also has an innate understanding of consumers and what makes them tick. We are positive he is going to be a fantastic asset to the team.”

Although the new appointment is a positive move for Salt & Pepper PR and will no doubt contribute to the company’s continued growth, there has been consternation from some individuals, particularly overseas, where he is well recognised and liked. However, Mr. Kringle believes it is the right time to make the leap from direct-to-consumer work to consultancy work behind the scenes.

“It was definitely time for a change,” says Mr. Kringle. “I’ve always loved the F&B industry, both personally and professionally - dairy and cookie products in particular, as well as the occasional sherry. I leapt at the chance to work for a PR consultancy specialising in that area of work. As well as being an exciting place to work, with some great clients, the hours are also much more reasonable than my previous role and the pay is significantly better. I was practically working for nothing at the old place.”

Mr. Kringle will relocate to New Zealand from his home in the Northern Hemisphere for the role. He is currently looking for a place to rent on the North Shore with his wife and a small number of helpers. Requirements include a large chimney, grazing for nine livestock and room to park a large vehicle.
