Zanda McDonald Award Shortlist Announced

Zanda McDonald Award Shortlist Announced

The Platinum Primary Producers (PPP) Group, the trans-Tasman agri-networking organisation, has announced the names of the six individuals shortlisted for the inaugural Zanda McDonald Award.

The candidates are Bryce Camm (Camm Agricultural, Qld), Kelly Pearce (Murdoch University, WA), Catherine Marriott (Influential Women, WA) and Emma Hegarty (DAFF, Qld) from Australia and Athol New (Synlait Farms, Christchurch) and Luke Wright (Landcorp, Te Anau, Southland) from New Zealand.

The six will next be interviewed by the judging panel – Julie McDonald (MDH Pty), Melinda King (Whitney Pastoral Company), Charlie De Fegely (Ararat, Victoria), Pat Gunston and Shane McManaway (Allflex Australasia).

Following the interviews three finalists will be invited to attend and present at the 2015 PPP Conference in Darwin, in June next year. The award recipient will be announced at the conference along with details of their tailored prize package – which includes a place on the Rabobank Farm Manager’s Programme.

Shane McManaway, PPP Group Chairman, says it’s an honour to be part of the group pioneering this award in honour of the late Queensland cattle baron, Zanda McDonald.

“Zanda McDonald was one of life’s inspirations. This award is a tribute to him and to the enormous contribution he made to agri-business. It’s also an opportunity for us to find the next tier of young agri leaders and help them on their way.”

The three finalists will be announced w/c Monday 15th December 2014.
