Beef + Lamb New Zealand Director Elections

Nominations have now closed for two farmer-elected positions on the Beef + Lamb New Zealand board.

A director election in the Northern North Island electorate will not be required. James Parsons (incumbent) is elected unopposed.

Two nominations have been received for the Northern South Island electorate. The candidates are Nigel Harwood of Takaka and Phil Smith of Culverden.

Election day will be Friday 27 February 2015. The election will be conducted by postal and internet ballot.

Voting papers, along with information about the candidates, will be posted to registered voters on 2 February 2015.

To be eligible to vote, farmers will come from the Northern South Island electorate and must have owned at least 250 sheep and/or 50 beef cattle and/or 100 dairy cattle on 30 June 2014. They must also be registered on the B+LNZ electoral roll by 5pm on Thursday 29 January 2015.

Farmers can register to vote by filling in the online form on the Beef + Lamb New Zealand website at beeflambnz.com/register or – from Monday 5 January 2015, by contacting B+LNZ on 0800 233 352.
