The people have spoken – Mazda3 earns top honours, again

Mazda3 has earned accolades from the public following its top billing at the New Zealand Car of the Year earlier this month.

Ahead of the NZ Car of the Year award announcement on December 4, the AA ran a social media campaign to ascertain the public’s choice for their favourite new vehicle out of all cars launched this year – the People’s Choice Car of the Year.

With 14% of the nearly 20,000 total votes, the Mazda3 won the People’s Choice – more than double the votes of its closest rival, the Honda Jazz.

The top 10 cars from the public vote:
• Mazda3
• Honda Jazz
• Holden Trax
• Ford EcoSport
• Suzuki S-Cross
• Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
• Ranger Rover Sport
• Subaru WRX/STI
• Jeep Cherokee
• Lexus ES

AA Motoring Services General Manager Stella Stocks says the Mazda3 has become a Kiwi favourite since its introduction a decade ago.

“The Mazda3 is a versatile car that through every iteration has offered consumers high levels of safety, style, function and is packed full of features.”

As well as securing the NZ Car of the Year title and the People’s Choice Award, the Mazda3 was also named as the Driven Car of the Year by the New Zealand Herald on the weekend.
