‘Gull Effect’ Set to Take Flight in 2015

‘Gull Effect’ Set to Take Flight in 2015

Filling the tank will get more affordable for New Zealanders this year with Gull, the independently owned energy company, set to open multiple sites across the North Island in 2015.

Gull Forrest Hill, the 65th Gull site and the first of eight slated for opening in 2015, switched its pumps on today, delivering lower fuel prices to the people of Auckland’s East Coast Bays.

Renowned for keeping competitors honest and prices low, Gull believes that the multiple openings on the cards this year will see a continuation of the ‘Gull Effect’, a localised price drop trend across competitors following Gull’s introduction into a new location.

“Today’s opening of Gull Forrest Hill means motorists of Auckland’s East Coast Bays are the first of many across the North Island to benefit from the ‘Gull Effect’ this year. The ‘Gull Effect’ is our positive contribution to lower petrol prices by being a challenger and prompting our competitor’s reaction to our own pricing strategy,” says Karl Mischewski, Retail Development and Sustainability Manager at Gull.

“Decreasing international oil prices have seen prices at pump drop repeatedly this year but, at Gull, lower prices are our core philosophy, 100% of the time, which is why we continue to lead the way in price drops. We’re delighted to offer the people of the North Shore more affordable petrol now and look forward to seeing the ‘Gull Effect’ in action across the country as we open more new sites throughout the year.”

The new Gull site is an unmanned drive through site that provides regular, diesel and Gull Force 10 grades on four dispensers. Gull Forrest Hill will be the fourth site to have a dedicated dispenser for Gull Force Pro, a high octane performance fuel made from 85% bioethanol mixed with 15% premium petrol.
